THE VILLAGE OF POLSKI SENOVETS

The village of Polski Senovets has everything you need for day to day living.

The first known inhabitation of Polski Senovets was about 2000 years ago. Originally a Roman village it was home to horse and sheep breeders. Archives state that Polski Senovets were called Senovyats or Osyanovets. There were several small villages nearby, Sarnitsa, Glogota, and Dunavliy Suvandzhikyoy.

Sightseeings

Close to the village of Krusheto (9 miles away) are the ruins of Nicopolis ad Istrum and Kale with preserved walls. The total area is 21 hectares. The excavations are open for visitors from early spring to late autumn.

The village of Arbanassi is located about 22 miles from here. The village has monumental houses and churches with rich interior decoration, wood carving and mural paintings created in the XVI-XVII century. These unique monuments of Bulgaria's architectural and artistic heritage is why Arbanassi attracts not only tourists but also scientists, archeologists, historians, architects and artists.

The village of Polski Senovets is part of the Polski Trambesh municipality - Veliko Tarnovo region. There are food shops, pub, post office and local transport etc. The nearest bigger town is Polski Trambesh which is 5 miles away. VELIKO TARNOVO & REGION

The Historical Veliko Tarnovo located on the famous "Yantra River" (the 3rd longest Bulgarian tributary of the Danube River) is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in Bulgaria.

Situated at the foot of Stara Planina Mountains in north central Bulgaria it attracts many tourists due to its unique architecture and history. The houses, stacked one above the other, situated on the hills of the city have a remarkable, unique architectural style.

Even as an ancient city Veliko Tarnovo has modern and original bars, eateries and shops and the ultra modern Grand Central Mall (One of Bulgaria's largest) with a multiplex cinema, shops, atrium and childrens play area - there is something for everyone in the mall alone. Veliko Tarnovo's museums are varied and show the history of the ancient city and relics from the past.

The closest ski resort is in "Uzana" (pics below) the geographic centre of Bulgaria and 28 miles from Veliko Tarnovo. There are several hotels in the resort providing tourism and good conditions for relaxing in the quiet atmosphere of the mountain throughout the year. The surrounding sites of Uzana are suitable for rock climbing. In the nearby open-air "Ethnographic Museum Etara" people learn more about Bulgarian crafts.
