THE VILLAGE OF GORNA STUDENA

Gorna Studena is 20 miles from Svishtov and the Danube. The village is well-developed with a good infrastructure. you will find all the basic amenities and more - shops - bars - historic museum - a church built in the 19th century and regular buses to neighbouring towns and villages.

The military history museum "Vladimir Alexandrovich" (also known as the museum "Headquarters of the Russian Danube Army 1877") was opened in September 1907 in the village. The museum displays weapons and documents provided by the Russian command specifically for the museum.

Gorna Studena is well located next to the main road leading to Sofia - Pleven - Veliko Tarnovo. In the vicinity are a number of small lakes and a dam - great for fishing and outdoor recreation. The nearby village of Ovcha Mogila is known for its mineral water wells and spas.

The availability of mineral waters defined the development of the village of Ovcha Mogila as a SPA resort. The mineral waters are hyperthermal, moderately mineralized and slightly alkaline. VELIKO TARNOVO & REGION

The historical Veliko Tarnovo located on the famous "Yantra river" (the 3rd longest Bulgarian tributary of the Danube river) is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in Bulgaria.
