The Yantra River runs close to the village and perfect for fishing and kayaking. The famous "Tsenovo Market" is every Tuesday. TSENOVO & REGION The Tsenovo Municipality is located on the curve of the Yantra River only 15 miles from the Danube River. The village offers all basic amenities including shops, restaurants, mayor's office, police station, bakery and regular public transport. The Danube River defines the northern boundary. To the west is the university Town of Svishtov. The southern border touches the Town of Byala and to the east the Municipality of Borovo. The Byala railway station connects the village to the Ruse-Gorna Oryahovitsa line. TheYantra River is suitable for fishing. There is a fishing school and the river is ideal for kayaking. The region benefits from very picturesque surroundings that cater for various types of tourism with a rich historical past. HISTORY OF THE VILLAGE OF TSENOVO The modern village was founded in the late 16th-early 17th century as the farm of the Gulhane Park administrator and the settlement gradually grew as many people settled around the inn. The village was first named Caushan and Causkoy. Following the Liberation of Bulgaria the name was changed with the addition of the "-evo" suffix turning it into Chaushevo. On 14 August 1934 the village was renamed Tsenovo in honor of the influential merchant from Svishtov - Dimitar Apostolov Tsenov who donated 40 million BGN for the Svishtov University of Economics.

Ruse is the biggest Bulgarian river port on the Danube River serving an important part of the international trade of the country. Also known as the "The elegant Mini-Vienna" Ruse is the 5th biggest city in Bulgaria and one of the most beautiful because of the unique architecture. Ruse occupies a significant place in the Bulgarian national history and has a rich cultural-historical heritage — a potential needed for the development of cultural tourism. As an old settlement Ruse has a very rich millennial history.
Nature around the city of Ruse ** Natural Park “Rusenski Lom” — The Rusenski Lom River Valley along with its tributaries Beli (White), Malki (Little) and Cherni (Black) Lom have amazing nature and past history. Part of the valley was proclaimed a Natural Park. The park is located 20 km to the south-west from Ruse. It was created in 1970 with the purpose of preserving the canyons of the three rivers and historical landmarks. The rivers have created incredibly beautiful gorges into the limestone rock foundations - a real paradise for rock climbers.
** Natural landmark “Orlova Chuka” Cave - is located on the left shore of the Cherni Lom river. This is the 2nd longest cave in Bulgaria (13 438 m in length), and has a complex labyrinth of interweaving galleries and tunnels. ** Lipnik Forest Park: the park is a big site for recreation, sports, tourism, sunbathing and other kinds of entertainment 12 km east of Ruse. The park has country houses, restaurants, artificial lakes, a hotel, a zoo corner, a sports base and the camping site. This is a wonderful place for fishing, water sports, walking and just enjoying the day. The villages in the region are attracting tourists with their picturesque nature and the breath-taking views. There are plenty of opportunities for hiking or riding. The surrounding area offers different ways to spend your time and enjoy the beauty of the region. The closest ski resort to Ruse is in "Uzana" (pics below) the geographic center of Bulgaria about 28 miles from Veliko Tarnovo. There are several hotels in the resort which provide tourism and the conditions for relaxing in the quiet and calm atmosphere of the mountain throughout the year. The surrounding site of Uzana is suitable for rock climbing. There are possibilities for cultural tourism in the region. In the nearby open-air "Ethnographic Museum Etara" people can learn more about Bulgarian crafts. The "Sokolski Monastery" is situated a few miles away from Uzana.
