The village is 7 miles east of the Yantra river and one mile south of the Danube river. The village is well maintained with a town hall, a community centre and shops. There is a regular bus service from the village to the nearby towns and villages. The population of the village is about 590 people. Just over one mile north of the village is the Batin Island.
