Hello, world! Remember me?
I wouldn’t hold it against you if you didn’t. After all, it’s been nine years since my last blog post. In blog years, that’s about as long as a century, and it makes this post the blog equivalent of a time traveller stepping out of a DeLorean with a silly grin and saying, “So, what did I miss?”
If you’re still here — you deserve a medal (or a high-five, at least). Second, I would very much like to say my silence has been the result of some epic, soul-questing adventure, like scaling Mount Everest, assembling IKEA furniture, or having been recruited as some high-ranking secret agent. But to be honest… I probably just got side-lined by Netflix, napping, and the ceaseless search for the perfect pizza. Priorities, right?
Okay, now, I know some of you are saying, “Why come back now? Why speak out after nearly a decade of silence on the air?” Well, here’s the truth: I ran out of shows to binge, and doing this seemed a little bit better than doom-scrolling through social media for the thousandth time. Also, I’ve finally reconciled with the fact that blogs don’t write themselves — no matter how long you give them to themselves. (Trust me, I tried).
So what has happened since then, in the past nine years? A lot, and yet also, not enough. The world has changed, memes have entered stratospheric levels of weirdness, technology progressed in a blistering pace… and yet, my password for this blog never changed. Go figure.
But fear not! I’m back — and this time I’m planning to be here longer than it takes to say “new blog post.” There will be musings, ramblings and perhaps an occasional deep thought — though don’t hold me to that.
Anyway, regardless if you’ve been waiting for me to come back, or happened across this by chance, welcome (back) to my corner of the internet. Let’s catch up, shall we?
Stay tuned — and if I vanish for another nine years, just know that I’m likely on the chase for that elusive perfect pizza again.
