THE VILLAGE OF BOSILKOVTSI
Bosilkovtsi is a village in north Bulgaria and is located in the municipality of Byala in the district of Ruse.
The village has electricity, water supply and a couple of shops. There is a post office, community centre, church and shops. The nearest education and medical centres are in the neighbouring town of Byala.
The population is approximately 610 people.
Tourism and natural landmarks:
- One of the most beautiful places east of the village is Chantlaka which is visited by nature lovers;
- The Bosilkovtsi dam in the village;
- The village is near the Yantra river. The river is ideal for fishing and it's own fishing school. The river is perfect for kayaking.
A book about the history of the village has been published - "Bosilkovtsi. Chronicle of one beautiful village" which the author presented to the historical museum in Ruse. The author has taught history in the village for many years and has collected materials for her book. The book traces the history of the village, its location and political life.
Until 1934 the village was called the village of Chatma.

MUNICIPALITY OF BYALA
The Byala municipality is in the district of Ruse central north Bulgaria located in the Danubian plain about 12 miles southeast of the Danube river.
The population in the municipality is around 15.000 people.
The area is a crossroads of some of the main routes in the country – road E85, road E83, I-51 and I-52 which connect the province centre of Ruse with the cities of Veliko Tarnovo, Pleven, Svishtov and the country capital of Sofia and Shipka pass.
The Yantra river flows through the area from south to north.
Some of the landmarks in the municipality are the historical museum in Byala and the Byala bridge.
The museum in Byala is a municipal cultural institute with five departments – nature, art, archeology numismatics, ethnography, and new and recent history.
The historical museum in Byala presents events related to the Russian-Turkish War of Liberation. The two-storey building of the museum was once was a Turkish dwelling.
The Byala bridge is situated at the northeastern part of the town of Byala, in the district of Ruse. It was built over the Yantra river in 1865-1867 on the orders of Mithat Pasha, Vali of the Danube Vilayet. The construction was because the new road crossing the Yantra river in the town of Byala that connected Ruse, the main town of the Danube Vilayet, with Tsargrad, the capital of the Ottoman Empire.
